Macrogenetic Atlas of Prokaryotes (MAP)

An open resource integrating large-scale genomic and population genetic data with phylogenetic, phenotypic and ecological information

Macrogenetic Atlas of Prokaryotes (MAP)

Macrogenetic Atlas of Prokaryotes (MAP) is an open resource (www.genomap.cn/) that integrates genomic data (summarized by 30 parameters in 12 categories) from 15,235 prokaryotic species and population genetic data (22 parameters in 7 categories) from 786 species with phylogenetic, phenotypic, and ecological data. MAP enables quantitative characterization of the diversity within each prokaryotic species, facilitates straightforward cross-species comparisons and allows the identification of "extreme" species, providing macro-level insights into the boundaries and patterns of prokaryotic diversity. It also supports easy testing and refinement of established evolutionary hypotheses and fosters the development of new theoretical frameworks.
